The rudeness I get because I’m religious:
Stranger: If you’re religious, you must hate gays. You’re an awful human being.
Stranger: Oh, you believe in something that’s not scientifically proven. You’re really dumb :D
Stranger: Religious extremists are an accurate representation of what you are like!
Stranger: Christians murdered and raped during the Crusades. This clearly reflects who you are.
Stranger: You must think that everything in the Bible is a fact, stupid girl.
Yup this really sucks. People talk about equal rights for everyone, but I feel pretty otricised for being religious. I’m not deeply religious and I’ve always believed in equal rights for EVERYONE, gay, straight, fat, black, white, orange, yellow, green, rainbow, teal, skinny, normal, weird, so I really don’t why I have to be treated like absolute crap for believing in God. I’ve even had this kind of treatment from friends. It sucks, guys. I barely even have the guts to post this online.
People who follow a form of religion are more blindly discriminated against than just about any other group of people these days.
Rather than saying “stop hate on gays”, “stop racism”, etc… Just say you’re for equal rights among all people.
